It dawned on me, I am either reading about the “it” bag and what is hot this season or what “must haves” I need to put in my purse. And don’t get me wrong, I love seeing the what is hot, and I am always looking for ways to organize or add to my handbag. We are always lugging around our purse that is filled with things like; wallet, cell phone, business cards, some hair accessories, a cosmetic bag with at least a lipstick and a lip liner, in my case my lucky rock {yes, I have a lucky rock}, keys, hand sanitizer, work papers and the list can go on.     Now, this number might astonish you, or it might seem a bit light but according to a study by StyleList, on average a woman’s handbag weighs 6.27lbs. At first, when I hear love yourself it sounds so simple.  Some sayings that popped into my head are; stay positive, always look on the bright side, there is always good news. But let’s be honest, in the real world ?, there are times when negative thoughts can take over and put us in a tailspin. With all of the social media ?, instant gratification and reality tv shows ? being broadcasted and displaying perfection it can begin to give us a jaded view of our lives.  I believe transparency is a huge part of self-love. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news{and I am just as upset about this research as you are}.  According to this article on MSN, scientists say that it is not a good idea to hug your dog. WHAT….???   I was shocked as much as you are to learn that man’s best friend aka our dogs show signs of anxiety and even discomfort when being hugged. Now I know the next thing you are thinking, my dog is different and loves when I hug her. If you are one of the lucky ones who will receive a nice check from Uncle Sam then you get to make some decisions on what you do with your refund. According to the agency,  “8 out of 10 filers have qualified for a refund in the past few years and the overall average refund has been about $2,800”. There are some financial gurus who say save and some who say pay off debt. I say with $2,800 you have some decisions to make!!!     Pay off or pay down your debt – Look at any revolving credit cards you might be carrying a balance on. If you can pay off the entire credit card then high five to you! If not then look at your credit cards and see what account is charging you the highest interest. Sometimes your credit card company can be charging 18% and even more. I can remember when staying up past my bedtime was an exciting and cool thing to do. As kids our parents set bedtimes for us to ensure we have plenty of sleep or to ensure that we have structure and that we’re ready for school the next day. I’m sure we all can think back to that first time we got to stay up late past our bedtimes; maybe it New Year’s Eve or maybe it over the summer to the Fourth of July fireworks. As we grow into those teenage years we start hearing of our friends who pulled an all-nighter to cram for the calculus test. This pattern continues into college. College is a huge time for funny sleep patterns and staying up all night .
