There is always good news

There is always good news.

I have to be honest when I first heard this comment; I was thinking okay great, whatever and thanks for the support but I don't really see the good news. A very important man in my life lives by these words. Bill is my lover, my best friend and a very positive influence on me and my life. Bill is always smiling and has the best day ever... every day. So now I have grown to understand what he means when he says, “there is always good news.” You see, even when there is something bad that happens there is always good that happens. There is always a reason to have the best day ever. Here are 5 tips to have great news, stay happy and have the best day ever.

Change your mindset to “there is always good news”.

I know I am repeating this but it is true, really. Our days can be similar to a rollercoaster; we have ups and we have downs. We have great meetings, and we have a ton of rejection. Something you need to remember is there is always good news even with the bad. Think of the positive things that happened, not the negative. For example, nobody likes being stuck in traffic, right? You can look at it and say; oh my gosh I am running late or I am going to miss my yoga class, or my best friend is going to be so annoyed that I am late to her house again, etc. Or you can look at being in traffic as yes I am running late... but it gave me the opportunity to call someone I love and care about, or I got to listen to my favorite podcast, etc. Remember...there is always good news and find the good in a bad situation.

Take care of your body.

If you physically don't feel well, it is hard to be positive and be happy... Our bodies need fuel, and we need premium fuel. If we fuel ourselves with junk food, processed food, and sugar, we will not perform at our optimum level. It is crucial that you eat balanced meals and actually eat and avoid picking. Make the time to exercise.

Exercise.

Exercise gets the blood pumping and oxygen flowing. If you don't have the time to make it to the gym that day, then set your timer to walk around your office building. Or set your timer to do pushups a couple of times a day. I promise, your body will feel better, and it will increase your positive outlook

Smile.

Yes, smile. I know it sounds silly but smiles improve your mood. It takes more muscles to frown that it does smile. :-) Studies have shown that when we smile it activates the areas of our brain that are associated with reward and it triggers the release of dopamine. Regardless of the scientific portion, smiling is a great gift to give to people you come in contact with. If you smile at a stranger or even a colleague, it will improve your day and his.

Relax and take a deep breath.

When we are stressed, scared or don't know how to handle a situation we forget to breathe. It sounds simple but notice it next time you are in a cranky mood or bummed out. Chances are you forgot to breathe. Take a couple of seconds and breath deep, replenish your brain and bloodstream. Wake up every day and enjoy it to the fullest. Take care of yourself and always smile!
